The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Mumbai is a career post led by Consul General Ms Monica Ommundsen Nagelgaard, located at One International Center on Senapati Bapat Marg in the Prabhadevi area of central Mumbai. One critical caveat shapes how this post differs from a typical consulate: the Consulate General does not provide any assistance with visa applications. Schengen short-stay visa intake for residents of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa is operated by VFS Global Norway at the Mumbai Visa Application Centre at Bandra-Kurla Complex (helpline +91 22 6786 6021). Decisioning on visa applications happens at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi. The Consulate General's consular function is limited to Norwegian nationals resident in the western Indian states — emergency consular assistance, passport coordination with the Embassy, certifications and apostille support.

Innovation Norway's Mumbai office operates from the Bandra Kurla Complex area with a team supporting Norwegian exporters across the major Norwegian sectoral focus: maritime (ship-management, classification through DNV, ship-broking, port engineering, maritime equipment — Norway's maritime cluster has historically deep Indian ties anchored on the western India shipping corridor), oil-and-gas (Equinor's upstream Indian operations, Aker Solutions' subsea engineering services), seafood (Norway is one of the major suppliers of premium salmon to the Indian hotel-and-restaurant market, with the western India distribution running through Mumbai), and renewable energy (Statkraft's Indian solar and hydropower portfolio is among the larger Norwegian green-energy positions in Asia). The Consulate General supports inbound Norwegian trade delegations, the Norway India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) Mumbai chapter, and the Norwegian maritime-and-shipping cluster events.

Innovation Norway's Mumbai office, the Norway India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and the Indo-Norwegian Business Forum are the principal vehicles for Norwegian business support in the western Indian commercial cluster. Innovation Norway delivers consulting-led market entry services for Norwegian exporters, partner identification, regulatory navigation for India's GST and corporate-law environment, and Indian-customs and trade-compliance support — with the Mumbai office leading on the western-state and Goan commercial relationship. NICCI runs monthly networking events, sectoral working groups (maritime, energy, seafood, IT, sustainability), Norwegian Industry Days, and joint advocacy with Indian central and state governments.

Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. The Consulate General does NOT provide visa services; Schengen visa intake operationally covers the same catchment via the VFS Norway Mumbai centre with decisioning at the New Delhi Embassy. Within the catchment the principal Norwegian-resident concentrations are Mumbai (maritime-and-shipping, seafood-distribution, Innovation Norway, NICCI, the Norwegian energy community), Pune (Norwegian IT-services and engineering professionals at Indian operations of Norwegian companies), Ahmedabad (Yara's Gujarat fertiliser operations) and Goa (long-stay residents).

One International Center, Tower 3 is a Class-A office building in the Prabhadevi area of central Mumbai, about 5 km from the Mumbai Domestic Airport at Santa Cruz and about 20–30 minutes from Mumbai International Airport at Sahar depending on traffic. Approach by suburban rail to Lower Parel or Elphinstone Road and then taxi/auto, or directly by taxi from anywhere in the Mumbai metropolitan area. Visitors must present valid government-issued photo identification and pass building security at the One International Center lobby. The Consulate General observes both Indian and Norwegian public holidays — Norwegian Constitution Day on 17 May is the principal national observance reception held by the post.
